Mom’s the Word was founded on the principle that women want to look good, particularly when they’re pregnant. Okay, maybe even more so when they are pregnant and have no idea what is going on with their body. We were founded with the belief that pregnant women were just women..who were pregnant. We do not suddenly turn into "mothers". This was considered radical thinking 12 years ago when we first opened. We are a group-younger and older (but never old) women who love hanging out with pregnant women and playing dress-up and make over. We love it when you look good. We love fashion. We all dress differently-Megan loves her Michael Stars stripe tees and looks totally cute in dresses, Sarah wears black, Ashley has been known to wear sequined items during the day and pull it off, Emily has reminded us that prints can be a good thing and always looks fresh and put together, Kerina - who no longer works here was probably the best dressed, wore lots of clothes from the store and mixed them with pieces from her European travels and we will be forever in awe of her style. We are a group who believe the following: that you can't judge a book by it's cover, but people do it anyhow, and therefore when you look good you feel good and people react to you differently that everyone has the potential to look fabulous that every moment is precious and every child wonderful that if there is anything in your closet that makes you feel fat you should throw it out immediately that everyone should dance that you should never throw out the things in your closet that you love We hope that you feel great while you are pregnant that you will let us know about your experience in our stores-good or bad contact@momsthewordmaternity.com that shoulder pads never come back...although, we have to admit..they worked really well for some people in the 1940's, so, we reserve the right to change our mind on this one that you think that your baby is adorable, even at 3 am when you are totally sleep deprived and feel like s$#@ We know that a pregnant woman can look just as sexy, just as chic, just as stylish, just as hot, just as good as anyone else that being a mother may very well be the hardest job on earth that being a mother is definitely the best job on earth that real live pregnant friends and customers make the best pregnant models (so,if you want to join the fun and model contact@momsthewordmaternity.com) that sometimes pregnancy is not glamorous, but that it is totally worth all the un-glam things happening, and we can help with the glamour piece that glamour means different things to different people that we love what we do that a good bra makes all the difference that we love fashion and that even if you don't in the same way that we do, that you should feel good about yourself when you get dressed every morning (yes, every morning-even during the first 3 months post partum)
